Cheb's Tough MOD (50K) - a good trade-off between "Ultra-violence"
and "Nightmare"
Last years, new control standards (and in the first place,
Her Majesty Mouse) make DooM playing too easy... Try to remember: how
long ago you afraid of imps or zombies, even of huge crowds of them?..
In short, game balance was significantly deviated
This MOD corrects it an makes from the cannon fodder (zombies
and sargeants) really dangerous foes. Plus, it accelerates imps and
some
other monsters... So, now ALL doom monsters are real challenge for your
overtrained reflexes, quakers - no "dead weight"!.. To not mention that
when you hit monsters, they retaliate immediately (try shoot from SSG
at
crowd of mancubuses - and you'll toast, for they all will shoot
simultaneously)
Also, chaingun's rate of fire was increased twice, rocket damage
increased 3 times, and plasmaball now hits 2 times harder (and requires
2 cells per shot)

3 BFG MODs (48K) (included into MP v2.9.0
and up!)- from realistic to Q3-style, pure DED work.
#1 - Makes BFG a bit more "fair", unlike in standard DooM,
where the smashing effect depends on player position in moment of
plasmaball explosion, but not depends on position of plasmaball itself.
This one, on other hand, does area damage right when you shoot (acts a
bit like SSG) and plasmaball causes massive splash damage (=rocket x3),
so you can easily kill yourself (like in Q2)
#2 - Makes BFG act like real plasma-ball spitter, unlike that old
good BFG with its "weird" area effect. This one doesn't do any area
damage. Any damage is caused only by the plasmaball itself... But it
strong. It not only smashes nearby monsters when it flies forward, but
also does really heavy splash damage (=rocket x5), so don't shoot
nearby walls!
#3 - Just as it says. Acts similar to the Q3 BFG, i.e. as rapid rocket
launcher. No "spray" effect, shoots fast as hell, and each plasmaball
is strong as two rockets.. Oh yes, it also chews only 12 cells per shot!
